petting the horse The Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Education (CEECE) is an applied research center of the Orelena Hawks Puckett Institute. The major aim of CEECE activities and initiatives is to promote the adoption and use of evidence-based preschool classroom practices.

CEECE staff investigate the characteristics of effective preschool program practices, provide training in evidence-based and innovative practices in early childhood education, and examine the features of traditional and nontraditional approaches promoting adoption of evidence-based preschool program practices.

CEECE is dedicated to the study and use of asset-based practices that emphasize positive aspects of child, parent, and family functioning and asset-based activities that support and strengthen practitioner and community capacity to engage in evidence-based practices.
